Jay York age 67 died Saturday Feb. 7, 2014. He was born July 9, 1947 to the late Taylor York and Dovie Laney. Jay is survived by three sons Jay York Jr., Virgil Lee York both of Ohio, Tommy Jay York Tomahawk, KY, two daughters Loretta Boyett of OK, Dovie Crum of Lovely, KY, one step son Jimmy Strong of AL, three step daughters Evelyn Raichel of Scottsburg, IN, Louise Gabbard of IN, Linda York of OH, one brother Teddy Whitt of IN, four sisters Faye Shisler of Offutt, KY, Dimple Irene of GA, Rosetta Laney of Ashland, KY, Elsie Jean Hogston of IN, three half brothers Ray Laney Freddie Laney, Kenneth Laney, (preceded in death by one brother John Whitt) several grand and great grand children and a special cousin Patricia Laney. Visitation is Wednesday from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Preston Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at the Preston Funeral Home Chapel, with Travis Tackett officiating. Burial will follow in the Laney Family Cemetery at Offutt, KY.
