Walter R. Young, age 89 of Williamsport, died Tuesday October 9, 2018. He was born May 27, 1929 to the late Ben and Mollie Cordial Young. Walter was a member of the Hammond Free Will Baptist Church was a coal miner with Island Creek and he proudly served his country in the United States Army. He is survived by his wife Eunice Elieen Hall Young, three sons: Steve Corson of ME, Vaughn Musselman of MO, Robert Edward Parrigin of Louisa, KY; three daughters: Verona Heuser of Staffordsville, KY, Debra Parrigin Barr of Boons Camp, KY, Grace Parrigin of Boons Camp, KY, twenty grand children, thirty three great grand children and six great great grand children. Visitation will be held 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Preston Funeral Home and after 10 a.m. Sunday at the Hammond Free Will Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday at the Hammond Free Will Baptist Church with Isaac Rowland and Roger Hill officiating. Burial will follow in the Ben Young Cemetery at Offutt, KY.
