Ruth Olive Mills Meek, age 85, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Highlands ARH Regional Medical Center in Prestonsburg, KY. She was born on November 19, 1935 in Tomahawk, KY to Ersel and Marie Boyd Mills. She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Homer Meek; her daughter Tonya (Rick) McDavid of Grayson; her son Stephen (Michelle) Meek of Stambaugh; and her infant son Homer Douglas Meek. She is also preceded in death by three brothers: Ernest Mills, Dany Joe Mills, and Darrell Lynn Mills. Surviving are her children: Vickie Kathryn (Phillip) Daniels of River, KY; Gary Richard (Pam) Meek of River, KY; James (Jenny) Meek of Meally, KY; and Twana Gaye (Edmond) Hickman of Boons Camp, KY, as well as a sister Dimple (Isaac) Rowland, Meally, KY and a brother Charles Herbert Mills of Tomahawk, KY. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Shawna Marie Goble of Boons Camp, KY; Crystal (Landrum) Burchett of Stambaugh, KY; Heather (Jeremy) Spradlin of Boons Camp, KY; Marissa (Garrett) Spriggs of Boons Camp, KY; Veronica McDavid of Grayson, KY; Brennen (Beth) Meek of Paintsville, KY; Devin Osborne of Meally, KY; and MaKayla Osborne of Meally, KY. Ruth also leaves behind nine great grandchildren.
Ruth has been a faithful Christian and has been a very active member of both the Hammond FWB church and the Boons Camp FWB church for over 40 years.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Boons Camp FWB church with Edmond Hickman and Isaac Rowland officiating. Friends may visit the church from 11:00 am – 9:00 pm on Tuesday, January 5, 2021, and from 10:00 am until time of service on Wednesday. Burial will follow in the Meek Cemetery at Boons Camp.
